Lowes Trip # 9223401

Chris has been shopping for a desk for a Looooong time now.
The spare room in the Delaware house didn't really have the space for one, so I promised him that he could get WHATEVER desk he wanted for the Wichita Falls house (aren't I nice?)!
We been in Wichita Falls for close to 2 months now and he still is using an old table for his desk.
Its not exactly the most organized desk/table in the world.
But, Chris SWEARS that as soon as he gets this new, wonderfully perfect desk, he will no longer have these....uhm...organizational issues.
The problem is, he just can't find "THE" desk.
He's looked everywhere....Target, Office Depot, every furniture store in town (plus a couple in Dallas), etc, etc.
Sooooooooo, now he has decided to BUILD his perfect desk.
Which brought us to Lowes. Again.
I can't tell you how many times I have been to Lowes. I know where stuff is better than most of the employees. When you recognize just about every employee at your local hardware store (and they know you by name....) its safe to say you have been there one to many times. Completely restoring a house tends to have this effect.

Anyways, there we were at Lowes shopping for desk lumber (and lumber for Clark's new bookshelves). Clark and I were very, very bored. Sooooo, we took pictures. And I thought I would just share them with you. :)

I've learned to not buy expensive sunglasses because they always end up being playtoys. Especially when you are stuck at Lowes and you are desperate.

Searching....searching....searching....
We made Chris stop and take a picture of his girls in our fabulous sunglasses.

Ok, really and truely it wasn't allllll that bad. Chris has definitely paid his dues too, entertaining Clark while I look through Target, Pier One, or some other "boring" store.

I'll have to post pictures once he finishes, but here is "THE" desk under construction!

As much as I tease, I'm sure it will turn out beautifully. My hubby is pretty talented with that kind of thing.
Just so I can brag on him, I put in some pictures of his projects from the Delaware house. In addition to practically re-building the house, he made the fireplace mantle.....
Before (side note: this is what the house looked like when Clark was BORN. Chris put in many 18hr days and about 1 month later we were moved back in. Did I mention he STILL got up with me EVERY time she woke up at night....yeah, he's a pretty awesome guy) :

After:

And a huge built in....
Before (we lovingly called this the safari wall...the previous owners had covered this corner with leopard print plastic....classy):

And after!

Not bad for a pilot! ;)
